Hello, I'm Mario!
Clients I See: Adults & Couples
I’d love for you to take a moment to learn more about who I help, how I help, and what it might look like for us to work together. Scroll down to read more about my approach and the types of clients I support.
Welcome!
Working with Adults:
Sometimes life can feel like a lot to carry, especially when you’re trying to be everything for everyone around you. You may find yourself dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or burnout while still trying to show up for your family, your relationships, your career, and all the other responsibilities life brings. Maybe you’ve become so accustomed to pushing through that you’re not even sure when you stopped making room for yourself.
You may also be navigating a major life transition, struggling with your confidence or self-esteem, experiencing family conflict, or trying to figure out why certain patterns seem to keep showing up in your life and relationships. You don’t have to have everything figured out before talking with a counselor. Sometimes the first step is simply having a place where you can slow down, talk openly, and feel heard without judgment.
In our work together, we’ll explore what you’re experiencing, what matters most to you, and what may be getting in the way of the life and relationships you really want to experience. Together, we can work toward healthier ways of managing stress and emotions, strengthening your sense of self, improving communication and relationships, and creating meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
Working with Couples:
Relationships can be incredibly rewarding, but they can also be hard at times. You and your partner may care deeply about each other while still finding yourselves having the same difficult discussions, struggling to communicate, or feeling like you’re talking but neither person is really being heard. Over time, everyday responsibilities, parenting, work, family pressures, and unresolved hurts can create distance between two people who once felt incredibly connected.
Maybe conversations quickly become arguments. Maybe one of you shuts down while the other tries harder to be heard. Or perhaps you’ve simply reached a place where you both know something needs to change but aren’t quite sure how to get there. My goal is not to decide who is right or wrong. Instead, I want to help create a space where both partners can feel heard, understood, and respected.
Together, we can explore the
patterns affecting your relationship, strengthen communication, work through conflict more effectively, and begin rebuilding the emotional connection that can get lost underneath the pressures of everyday life. Whether you're trying to strengthen an already healthy relationship or work through a difficult season, therapy can provide a place to reconnect and move forward together.
Who Am I:
I believe one of the most powerful things we can offer another person is a space where they can genuinely be themselves, without judgment, without having to perform, and without feeling like they need to have all the answers.
I want to understand your experiences from your point of view and meet you where you are, while also encouraging you to explore where you want to go. I also believe in how our life experiences, patterns, strengths, and the ways our connections with others influence who we are.
My style is warm, conversational, collaborative, and encouraging. Therapy doesn't always have to feel clinical or intimidating. There will be room for difficult conversations, reflection, growth, and even some laughter along the way. I believe people often have more strength and resilience within them than they realize, and sometimes we just need the right environment to begin seeing it for ourselves.
Whether you’re coming to counseling because you're overwhelmed, your relationship is struggling, life has taken an unexpected turn, or you simply know something needs to change, you don't have to figure it all out alone. My role is to walk alongside you, help you better understand yourself and your relationships, and support you as you work toward a life that feels healthier, more connected, and more authentically yours.
RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME
AFTER WORK YOU CAN FIND ME
Spending time with my wife, family, and dog Swayze, working out or training for my next race
(fun 5k, ½ marathon, marathon, or triathlon), catching a Sox game, or convincing myself that
I’ve earned something sweet (Voodoo Donut!) because I worked out.
I FEEL MOST AT PEACE WHEN
I’m spending quality time with my wife and family, connecting with my faith, or simply having one of those moments where life slows down enough to appreciate the people and blessings around me.
A WEEKEND ISN'T COMPLETE WITHOUT
Family time, some kind of long run/bike/swim workout, good food in the city, laughter, and
probably watching one of my Chicago (Sox/Bulls/Hawks) teams, or my 49ers, raise my stress level for absolutely no good reason.
ONE RANDOM THING THAT ALWAYS MAKES ME LAUGH
Good-natured sarcasm, a perfectly timed joke, and laughing at myself. I definitely believe life is
serious enough already, so finding reasons to laugh along the way is important daily.
