Hello, I'm Jamesa!

I’d love for you to take a moment to learn more about who I help, how I help, and what it might look like for us to work together. Scroll down to read more about my approach and the types of clients I support.

Welcome!

Working with Adolescence/ Teens

Are you or do you know a teen who needs someone to talk to?  A person that will listen, not judge and give clinical feedback. Going through changes and transitions in your life can be very challenging and even more challenging doing it alone.  Sometimes as a parent, it may seem harder to “get through” to your teenager.  As a teen, how do you get those common but not-so-common questions answered, such as Who am I? What do I want in life? How do I deal with these different relationships in my life? Why does it seem like nobody understands me?,,,, just to name a few.  So come on and let’s talk about it! Here, you are seen, heard and your feelings are valid. Together we can explore these and other topics to bring clarity and encouragement so that the leader that’s already on the inside of you can come forth.

Working with Couples
Feeling like your relationship has hit a dark cloud, and something is causing a division, but you can’t quite put your finger on it? Or maybe you are emotionally aware but need some assistance with encouraging or supporting your partner?.. Allow me to be that sounding board and mirror, that is needed to present the true reflection. We offer counseling for couples whether you are just starting out and navigating this thing called “DATING”….all the way down to couples who have a bit more years under your belt with being together. Let me help you problem solve the various topics that may arise in a relationship such as finances, raising children or empty nesters, intimacy issues, communication and so much more. Let’s work together to gain insight and develop strategies to expand your union with many more healthy years.

Working with Individuals
Whether you have close friends/ family or not, you may not feel comfortable talking about certain things with them. You may need to get some things off your chest to feel a sense of relief. Do you need a space to build your confidence or set boundaries? Are you open to establishing an awareness of the mental and emotional trauma that could be connected to the physical discomfort and pain you are experiencing? So how do you let these things go, grow and move forward in life? How do you deal with grief? How do we get “unstuck” and take back control or our days, weeks and months? Is there really a person that could be my accountability partner and give me the support needed to break free of this cycle? YES, you came to the right place…..pull up a chair and let’s talk about it!

Who Am I
My name is Jamesa (aka Ms. Jay). And although I am a wife, a mother, and clinician, at the end of the day I am a human being. So, my heart aches, when yours ache, I rejoice when you rejoice. I can relate and understand through the lens of empathy. I have a strong belief that throughout life everyone will need some support in one way or another. I believe therapy is not “cookie cuter”, so having patience and getting to know my clients is key when exploring what skills are needed to help you reach your own personal goals. The basis of each session is with an understanding that YOU (my client) are the expert of your life and therefore I am here to listen and pull out those small “nuggets” of insight and awareness that brings you one step closer to victory over
life’s circumstances.
